1963 Muffler Heat Shield

Just wanting to make sure I get these installed right.

I put heat shield on muffler, installed muffler, slide tail pipe tip onto muffler, slide heat shield onto tail pipe tip, clamp heat shield, tail pipe tip and muffler together?

It seems like the heat shield does not slide far enough up on the tail pipe tip?

Greg, They are pits to install. You have the right idea but it's not easy. The repros appear to be a tad too small on the ID. Have fun and make sure no children are around. JD

LIC has new ones (just in 3/25) to fit both original and repro tips.
