I am considering buying a corvette that is overseas and trying to figure out the best way to ship the car back to the USA. Has anyone had any postive experiences doing so and what shipping company did you use? What kind of rates can I expect?

Re: Corvette shipping back to the USA
Don't have any company names, but just talked to a friend who is shipping his C6 to Europe for a one month tour. About $1200 from LA each way, but insurance is 1 1/2 times the value of the car, so in his case it is $700 each way.

Re: Corvette shipping back to the USA
Our Dutch and Aussie NCRS brothers have used the following firm (offices around the world, this is just the one US contact who speaks Corvette):
CFR Line USA
15501 Texaco Avenue
Paramount, CA 90723
Joanna Shroka
(310) 223-0474 x2110
I've met Joanna personally as I hand delivered a Duntov car for her to ship. They're a professional act and if you're after best price, they have the technology to SAFELY pack up to three cars in a single container for transport.
Also, the NCRS Judging Chairman from the UK runs a Corvette shop outside of London. Tom reports GREAT sucess with asking for deck/surface transport instead of containerized shipment. He swears that's the 'best' way to ship because the Japanesse cars ship that way for best/lowest cost and their QA/QC folks monitor deck/surface shipments for damage constantly...- Top
