    Motor Mounts, Joe Lucia

    Joe
Could you tell me, from a safety perspective, a little about the L36 "68" motor mounts in my thread of 1 April? Have a picture there.
    Thanks

I looked at that photo for quite awhile. The mount appears to be a non-locking style mount as was originally used for all 1963-69 Corvettes. However, it does not appear to me to be an original mount. From what I can see of it in the photo, it just doesn't appear to me to be of original configuration. I can't say for sure it's not, though.

      Dale,

The angle you HAD to use for the photo can throw off the perspective of the mount.

I have reproduced the angle with a mount off the shelf in photo 3528.

In photo 3529 I have included the photo in 3528 along side an original mount referenced in Joe's answer.

You will see that the motor mount in your 68 has been replaced with the safety mount that is available presently on the market.

Joe is correct that your mount has been replaced.

From the little I can see of the bottom of Dale's motor mount, it does look like a locking mount. However, the top and side does not look like any locking mount I have ever seen.

          JR & JL
Thank you both for the info. I just didn't know for sure what it was but suspected it looked like some kind of a replacement that was a locking type. Big thing is I guess its O.K. fuctionally
