hard top with sticky interior trim

Anyone have any success removing the sticky surface from vinyl. My 72 hard top interior is in good condition except it is very tacky to the touch.
Is that just the way it is going to be from now on or is there a treatment that I can apply? thanks

Hank, My 72 coupe was the same, I think that the build-up of armor -all of some sort of interior dressing and cause it to get sticky with age, Just use some dawn dish washing liquid on a towel and water, this should clean it up.

Hank, I used simple green to get the sticky off a steering wheel.

Fantastik Orange-action all purpose cleaner.

Just used it on the orange 72, and it removed dirt that Simple Green and others didn't touch.
