March 27 David E. Davis passed after bladder cancer surgery. His time at Campbell Ewald saw him do Corvette advertising 50+ years ago when he was about 30. I always enjoyed his writing and learned alot from his stories.

Rest in Peace David and Cogito Ergo Zoom.

Sorry to hear about his passing. I really enjoyed Automobile Magazine from it's inception. He was obviously a real car guy. RIP.

One of the best Regionals I have ever been to was at Williamsberg where David E Davis gave a presentation on Corvette Advertising and his days at Campbell Ewald.

He was indeed the consummate car guy. RIP

not only did the MAC chapter of NCRS have mr davis at the williamsburg reional, we were also entertained at a chapter meet a year or two before the regional. i believe it was don larue who procurred his services. david was certainly a character and i'll miss his contributions to automobile magazine. his c-1 and c-2 ad campaigns while at campbell ewald can't be topped. bring on the haybales. rip. mike

I started reading Davis in the old Sports Car Illustrated before it became Car and Driver. Very talented and interesting gentleman. I also had the pleasure of hearing him at both the Williamsburg Regional and National.
