I have two question about 67 big blocks first what s/n is the transition from large pan head screws to bolts on the back of the waterpump and second what s/n is the transition from a flat timing chain cover to a cover with 3 scallops or notches thank you, Dave.

[TTT] Dave -- can you describe in more detail (or better still, pics) of this flat timing chain cover, or a cover with 3 scallops ? The only scallops I can imagine are the two (for clearance) in the edge of the cover where the water pump legs bolt to the block.

Or, are you perhaps referring to the "transition from a flat water pump cover...". [see pic below showing flat cover and pan head screws with star washers]. I always thought the latter was strictly '65 BB, but I could be wrong.

Are you refering to the three indents in the timing chain cover for the later model water pumps with the bolts instead of the flat pan head screws? Larry
