C-1 Steering wheel color and texture

I am restoring a 62 Almond Beige with Fawn Beige interior. The steering wheel needs some work and is Tan and Smooth. Does the correct steering wheel for a 62 have texture, and is it the same color as the exterior, Almond Beige??

A 61 or 62 car with a fawn beige interior would have a Fawn Beige "colored" steering wheel. Since Fawn Beige paint was a metallic it would not show up on the steering wheel. In my opinion the color was smilar to Fawn Beige but had no metallic. The color was molded into the wheel (the resin was tinted) and again in my opinion looked nothing like the exterior paint.
The wheel had a texture which is very difficult to describe in words. The texture on the C1 steering wheels sold by Vettemasters in Virginia have a texture copied from a GM engineering sample wheel which I provided to them for reproduction purposes. It was dated late 1955 and was untouched and in perfect condition.
