69 Front Caliper Dates

The front calipers have been removed from my 69 and I'm looking for the dates referenced in the Judging Guide. It says the "machined surfaces will contain a small date code".

There are at least 10 machined surfaces on the caliper. Does anyone know where to precisely look?

Chris, look at the top of the calipers, I believe there next to the bleeder area or near by, get the glasses out there stamps are small.

The original calipers on my original owner 1969 have NO stamped date codes. I've looked them over THOROUGHLY and there are none to be found.

They are very, very small.

Thanks Patrick and Joe. Patrick, that looks like a cast surface versus a machined surface. On my calipers, there are Julian dates in the castings.

Patrick's PIC shows an aged machined surface of a caliper.

And here is a date, in this case the 63rd day of 1970, IMO...

Mine is also painted to "look machined" by using silver paint cuz I don't want it to rust.

Ok, after some cleaning I found some numbers. 3 out of the four caliper halves that make up the front pair of calipers had a 3 digit stamp. I presume a Julian date for the calendar year. "332" for a car built on December 10th would be plausible.

I also found a "Y" stamp on each of the bottom of the caliper halves.
