58 Carpet Adhesive

What kind of adhesive are you using for carpet install? a workable spray for repositioning of the carpet or a good strong almost instant stick product? I'm seeing 3-M brand in Pics. Thanks, Brad.

3M General Trim Adhesive. Does not allow much time so trial fit all the carpet pieces first before applying to both the carpet and the floor.

I like Weldwood contact cement.
Fit the carpet, roll back the edge and coat carpet and floor, give it a quick dry with a heat gun and then put in place.
Nice and clean and quick but NO repositioning.

I agree with Bruce. You have much more control with a brush on than with a spray. Soak your brush in mineral spirits overnight and you can reuse. This will permanently adhere the carpet but there is no repositioning once pressed down.

Guy's, are you saying also that you only need to glue down the edges of the carpet and not the entire surface for a good enough placement? Seems to me the spray would be quicker and easier on the head but maybe more mess? The Paragon video shows the installer using spray. Thanks and Happiest Easter to all. Brad
