L72 Accelerator Bracket Finish?

I have seen several pictures of these engines and most (but not all) appear to have the accelerator bracket painted orange; however the JM states that bracket on the 425 engine is either zinc or cad plated.

1. Could this be overspray I'm seeing?

2. From a judging point of view, what is correct; zinc/cad with no orange overspray?

I don't think the return spring bracket was plated, at all. It most likely would have been oversprayed with engine orange though, especially on the outboard side.

I dunno anything about judging.
