1954 Carb Rebuilder

I know this question has been raised before regarding a recommended carb rebuilder for my 1954.

Searching the older postings on the subject, Bob Kunz has seemed to be referenced previously. Are there any others out there that the C1 crowd has had good luck with. I would like to get this underway since the engine will soon be sent out for the rebuild.

Philip Cancilla, Custom Rebuilt Carburetors, LLC is currently restoring the carb for my 1960. They have a web site. I have seen their finished carbs and they look great and are ready to bolt on and go. Street rebuild runs around $250 and show quality rebuild is $325. On street rebuild, they do not replate all of the small connecting rods, but they clean the rods and clear coat them to protect from rust. Every other aspect of the street rebuild is the same as show rebuild.

I used Bob for the carb on my '56 just a few months ago. He's a great guy with good communication during the job and very fair costs. His follow up on any small issues afterwards is fantastic. He does take time though. He had mine for about early Sept '10 until end of Dec '10. I couldn't have asked for a better job though, it looks and work great. You wouldn't believe the hunk of scrap metal it looked like when I sent it to him! He is a miracle worker on these!
