I checked the archives and could not find any useful info. I am starting to look for a correct date starter motor and don't know the difference between a starter for a non-PG car and a PG car. I see references to the correct nose. I believe there is some type of bracket from the PG to the starter. What do I need to look for so that I don't purchase the wrong starter motor?

All 1957-1960's used the same starter, regardless of the transmission - they were all bellhousing-mounted. Starters unique to Powerglide didn't start until 1962, when the aluminum Powerglide was introduced, using a block-mounted starter.- Top
