    Spring Carlisle parts goodness

I'm fortunate to live less than an hour from Carlisle, so I'm able to make just about all of the shows that have anything to do with classic cars. This one was particularly memorable, especially considering I couldn't get up there until today - Sunday - which is when all the vendors are leaving in droves. Here's what I picked up:
    • 1962 512 voltage regulator, original cover and capacitor in place for $5
    • Lcense plate lens with original and usable white gasket $3
    • NOS headlight switch for my '63 - I needed this part, so I paid the price (and probably too much) $80
    • Got a referral on a fuel car RH 902 manifold that turned out to be too good to be true - just a regular 902 w/choke tube so I passed
But, and in the end best of all, the reason I went up today is because of a brake issue on my '63. It had a hard pull to the left on braking, so I put it on the punch list to address via bleeding. I started yesterday afternoon and was getting huge amounts of air from the bleeders that would never settle down to clear fluid. I pulled the master cylinder late this morning and during bench bleeding realized it was bad. I checked carlisleproductions.com and searched the vendor list for Lonestar Caliper, and lo and behold, they're at the show. I was hoping to drop off my master cylinder for a rush job after they got back to Texas and hurried up there with my son and dog in tow, found the Lonestar folks who were still there, and - amazingly - they have a fully rebuilt and ready to go 1963 master cylinder built one day past the date code of the one in my hand. I gladly traded my core plus the cost of a rebuld and I now have a fully bled and working brake system again with date codes intact Carlisle rocks!

I was under the impression that 62's used 9002E voltage regulators. That's the one I've been chasing all these years, at least.

        I'm sure it's for a '63, just early. It's a 512 with a date code of 2H.
