67 Ignition Lock Removal

How do you remove the ignition switch assy when the key has been lost, Started restoring car back in 97 and due to one thing or another, it was put on hold till now. Have no idea where the key is. Just looking for an easy solution. The cluster assy is out of the car. TIA

Al - If you have the original door locks for the car the KEY NUMBER should be stamped on the door lock case and if the ignition lock cylinder is the original or was working with the same key; you can have a key cut by a Locksmith from the KEY #. Lots of "ifs" but should work IF the stars line up and the door locks and the ignition lock cylinder have not been change or if the ignition lock cylinder has been re-keyed to the door locks. Thanks Peter, I'll check my door locks. The best I can remember, the key did fit and work both ign & doors. It's a one owner, so I might be lucky here. Any suggestions on a locksmith in the NC area or ? that can cut a new key?

Al - If you have the KEY #, a Locksmith or GM Dealer should be able to cut a key. Pete
