55 radio

on my radio i have two wires that connect toward the driver side of the car. i know one of them goes to fuse panel. the other wire has a u shaped connector that is 90 degrees to the wire. what is this wire and where does it connect?

John, that wire is for the dial light and should go to the headlight switch. Don't know why it is U shaped. Should just be a spade. This is assuming 55 is the same as 57. -Dan-

thanks dan. i do not know if i should have this wire on a 55, but connecting the wire to the light switch gives me a place to tie in without splicing into another wire.
