    65 FI and F40

I have a dilema that involves the shocks for a 65 F40 car. The car has the original springs, front and rear and the original front sway bar but the shocks are long gone.
The judging manual says something like "all elements for the F40 must be present" I think, I don't have it here at work.

I can't really justify the cost of the correct shocks (very expensive) but will I lose the whole shebang if I put on Delco replacements?
    Thanks

I see that in my '65 TIM&JG, and, IMO, it seems excessively harsh.

"All suspension components must be matched correctly for the level of suspension claimed in order to receive credit This includes stabilizer anti-roll bar, shocks and rear spring".

Depends on what they mean by credit (proportional or zero ?). It'll be interesting to hear chassis judges comments on this.

Thanks Wayne. An interesting point is that it would be cheaper for me to make the suspension standard than to buy the"correct" repro or reconditioned shocks. I am not about to do that though.
Shocks and, especially, tires and batteries, carry a lot of weight (ie points) for "consumables"

There's no need to hash this much further.. You're reading the descriptive text as if it were written:

"All suspension components must be match correctly for the level of suspension claimed in order to receive credit. This includes 100% factory original stabilizer anti-roll bar, shocks and rear spring."

The highlighted text is NOT present. So, if all of the key suspension components are there in F40 form and a few are of service replacement or aftermarket originality configuration, the guidance doesn't apply...

Does an AC Delco shock exist in service replacement form for F40? I have struck out on this so far. Or, is the standard service replacement OK?
          Thanks
