Mid Year Windshield Wiper Arm Position

Mid year corvettes have the driver side windshield wiper arm positioned below the passenger side. I researched the archives and believe this is correct. Can anyone tell me why? I was recently asked this question at a car show and didn't have a clue as to why. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

See the Assembly Manual, UPC 1-Asm, sheet E4; it shows the wiper arm travel geometry and setting dimensions. The system is designed to park the driver's side arm below the passenger side arm.

attached pic from the assembly manual, as you can see the engineers did the work on this subject, so i guess the answer to your question is ' because that's the way it is '

The driver side is parked below the passenger side to allow more free uncovered glass as not to interfere with the drivers vision.

Just a guess but it could be for better visibility for the driver if the wiper is down low on the glass??
