Re: 67 column questions
Keith the upper bearing is installed into the pot metal housing by pressing peening over the lip on the housing. The repro houses sell the bearing but not the whole assembly. Contact Tom Reina in SC he is the man to go to for these parts. He got me a good used assembly for my last 67 tele colum. Just google his name and corvette steering and it will give you his info.

Re: 67 column questions
Keith is this an early or late column? I went through my non-tele EARLY 67 column a couple years ago and found few resources for information or parts on this orphan design. Let me know if you have any questions, will do my best to help.- Top

Re: 67 column questions
The upper bearing housing is the same on all 67 and 68 columns, standard or tele. If you find a used part from a standard column, it will be much better than the tele part. Tends to pull out over time especially when the tele adjustment is too tight.- Top

Re: 67 column questions
Corvette Steering Service has a 67-68 housing and bearing listed as:
67-68 Upper Steering Column Bearing (in housing) reconditioned used (all columns reg & tele)
http://www.corvettesteering.com/corvette%20parts.htm
If your bearing needs replacing you could carefully grind away the spun over lip of the housing and press the original out. Then epoxy the outer case of a new bearing into the housing. The bearings are more readily available and not anywhere near as expensive as a housing and bearing assembly.
