Re: 72 4way and turn signal flashers
Rick, the 4 way flasher is the same as the flasher that is used in the alarm system under the jack box in the pass rear , I think it was A Tung Sol 536 Tall silver metal case. the directional is a blue plastic case 224, there were a few different suppliers. its also spelled out in the JM.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 72 4way and turn signal flashers
From the 1970-1972 Corvette Technical Information & Judging Guide (Fourth Edition):
"The assembly manual lists three part numbers as optional for the turn signal and four-way flasher. Ideal Corporation and Tung-Sol are two original manufacturers. Signal-Stat may be a third. There is no pattern to when each type of flasher was installed. Both flashers are # 536., with a date code that is three numbers long. The first two numbers are the week of the year, and the last is the last digit of the year; 032 = third week of 1972. Flashers made in the calendar year of 1972 usually have the letters DOT on them, but we have seen a few early 1972 produced flashers without the DOT designation."
As was stated above, the alarm uses the same flasher.
I hope this helps...Don Lowe

Re: 72 4way and turn signal flashers
Rick - On the 4-way hazard flashers typically the flashers used were either the IDEAL 536, the Tung-Sol 552, or the Signal-Stat 175. These were all "variable load" flashers. The turn signal flashers were typically either the Tung-Sol 224 or Signal-Stat 144. The IDEAL equivalent might also have been used. The turn signal flashers were "fixed load" flashers. Pete- Top
