The guide says that the guide lettering should be on the outside of the chrome circle on the stop/turn lens. But it does not mention the reverse lens at all. Is it the same?

Re: Reverse lens question
Originals I've seen have the numbers on the edge of the clear portion of the lens. The exact location of the numbers, relative to the red lens, can vary.
Also, the glue attaching the clear portion is usually a little sloppily applied, in that, it protrudes out a bit. In the pic below the glue appears as a dark, rough line above the numbers where the clear lens meets the red.Attached Files- Top

Photos of my '70 stop/turn and reverse lens. Look at the middle photo and you can see the glue oozing out btween the clear lens that Pat mentions.- Top

I hadn't seen this before and wondered if this was a random occurrence.Don Lowe

Re: Reverse lens question
Pat, I'm having a little trouble picking up on the orientation of the photo in your post. Is the center lens (white) assembled so that the "GUIDE..." letters are upside down in the car position? I have one lens (red/outboard) that is assembled such that the "GUIDE..." letters are inverted vs the other /opposite lens.

Re: Reverse lens question
Hi Don,
On my 71 the lenses for the back-up lights have the word GUIDE at about the 10 o'clock position and you read it normally. The letters and numbers on the clear/white part of the lenses run from about 7 to 5 o'clock.
Regards,
Alan

Re: Reverse lens question
This is interesting. I have 1 of 4 lenses that the "GUIDE..." lettering is 180* from where the rest are. I have looked, over the years, at others, trying to see if mine was an anomoly or if it was reassembled wrong by a PO. This thread is shedding some light on the issue. Thanks for posting!Don Lowe
