    Question for John Hinckley;69 Z28

This question may also apply to Corvettes:

    John:
We own a 69 Z28 like you. Mine is certified by your friend Jerry MacNeish.
One of his write-ups was that my throttle rod was hooked up to the wrong hole on the carb. I have since moved it to the correct hole. Like to
know how it is secured to the carb. AIM shows some type of clip they call
a "production part". I thought it was suppose to be a cotter pin since the throttle rod has a hole in it. Can you
look at yours a let me know when get a chance? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Larry,

Not to steal John's thunder, but if you are looking for an answer immediately it might be worth a look here:

The forum is very similar to what we have here.

The term "production part" in the AIM means that the part is the same as used for the base engine (or other standard component) shown in the AIM.

          Larry -

The Z/28 arrangement is the same as any of the other V-8 engines; the "Production Part" is retainer #9416713, which is an "E"-clip that snaps into a groove in the forward end of the Z/28-unique 2-piece accelerator rod; see the '69 Camaro A.I.M., UPC 6, sheet D3, item #4.
