It says 95% of the components are original to the car, just restored.

That's quite a strong accusation. What's the background for saying this?

Please read the description, Repaint, non org. wire.

I don't understand how you restore a unrestored car?

Again, I think its a neat mid-year, but remender only 95% org.

I am Bill Rotolone (5716) my opinion, you know what they say about that.

I wonder what this car would score?

OK, I'm still confused. What's 'wrong' about presenting this car for Flight Judging? The author used the words restore or restoration 17 times and 'original' in context only 3. The word unrestored is not used at all.

To me 'built car' = clone or counterfeit.

The word "built" is now being used for restomods, as in being built from the ground up as the owner desires, not as original.

There is nothing wrong in having this car judged, we all build our cars to some degree, judging standard etc. I am sure that it would no doubt be a top flight. and beyond.

First you have to buy it; then you can have it judged. FWIW: remove the little carpet squares beforehand.

                        Why remove them?

Don't forget that the judging standard is post new car delivery prep, so install the wheel trim rings and centre caps.

... and realize that the guy in charge of restoring the car is the same one who set the Bloomington Gold standards - where the car is judged as pre-dealer prep.

There have been quite a few cars, that were restored in that era, that obtained Top Flight or better then, and will barely make Top Flight today. One that come to mind, was advertised for sale a few years ago as a 99.9% scoring car in about 1990, and came back to the judging field just a few years ago and did not get close to making a Top Flight. Plus, who knows how many of the original parts are still on that car today. Seems like every time a car changes hands, a few good pieces never make it to the new owner
