    Tire Stain on Floor

Any suggestions on removing the brown tire stain on vinyl tile floors? We have tried "Bleach White", Steel wool and Comet, Spray 9.
Even lacquer thinner which works the best but still leaves some stain.

Gary, I have the same problem which I thought wouldn't happen with the commercial floor mats I purchased. I learned another thing as well. When you park the car on those mats, they don't like the BB heat radiating down on them so the tend to warp a bit.

This really depends on what type of tile you have and was it sealed when installed..some tile stains go into the tile itself which make it very if not impossible to remove..this is especially true with a natural stone tile..it may be something you remove and replace the 4 tiles or so that would be under the tires in a design that looks nice..sealed of course or color all the way thru them..

They had 4 coats of sealant on them. The Vette that left the stains was only 2 months old so the rubber was fairly new.
I just tried some hand cleaner and seems to be working. But not all of it.

One we get it cleaned I will put some small pieces of carpet down to be under the tiles.

That's good its sealed up..that means you may remove some of the sealer cleaning it off and it may need another coat to blend it in..if you use carpet watch out for the kind that has a rubber bottom..it leaves marks on the floor also..kinda like the favorite fender covers some people use..a detail soft towel works great if you can keep it in place..maybe ask the people who put the tile down what to use to remove the tire mark..it depends on what sealer they used as to which cleaner you should use..stay away from the acid type citrus cleaners they will take everything off..

I did contact the tile store and installer and they didn't have any good ideas.
The hand cleaner seems to being the job. I can/will also put on more sealer after it is cleaned.
Thanks for the tip re rubber backed carpet.

Wayne - Don't get to technical on us

Heck I would settle for the time to wash the car, much less the place where it resides.

We 'park' the cars on cement. We store Vettes on Tile.
