    Re: Radio Clicks when shifting

Sorry it took so long to check back. I unplugged the TCS switch on the trans side cover and the clicking stopped.

Does this mean the switch a is bad or that there is an open circuit. I do not have the jumper wire between the harness and the temp switch in the head.

    Thanks. You guys are amazing.

I would suggest checking the grounding of your radio and the center bezel and the CEC system as a first step in troubleshooting the clicking sound. I do not recall a capacitor in the radio circuit but there could be one. The clicking you are hearing is most likely being caused by the CEC sending a signal though ether your antenna or the radio circuitry then to the speakers when power is applied or removed from the CEC.

Check to make sure the relay has a good ground just remembered on a 71 the relays have a separate ground at the relay mount do not remember where a 70 relay is or the ground for it is located.

Thought I would post a follow up.

I went through all the grounds again. What I found is that I left off one of the two star washers where the ant. grounds to the frame. I had the one on the outside but not the one between the ground strap and the frame.

I put the second washer on and bingo, problem solved.

        Thanks for all the help.

          Paul,
For us guys with C1s, what is a TCS and a CEC switch?
Can I put them on my 57??
I thought AM radio's were supposed to click most of the time...

            Bruce

TCS stands for Transmission Controlled Spark.
CEC stands for Combined Emissions Control.

This would be toooo! technical for a C1 person to deal with please leave this alone. It would take to long to explain.

AM radio that is only used in a C3 if the FM has failed and everyone knows that never happens.

Just remember Real Sports Cars do not have Trunks.
