    Lower Control Arms

Can anyone tell me what the tab on the rear of the lower control arm is for?It appears to be a small angle welded to the arm opposite the sway bar mount. The arms I have have nuts welded where the tab should be.
    Thanks

    Philip,

I believe it's a stop for the steering arm in the full left/right lock position.

...and it's the same for all 1963-77 lower control arms. However, it's not the same for 1978-82. Due to the optional 255-60-15 tire size used during these years, the steering arm stop changed very slightly in size and was used on all cars, not just those equipped with the larger tires.
