Re: velvet touch C1 pads...supplier??
Jerry, I can't remember the name now but there is reliner of competition brakes in WA state. I have it around here someplace and will look as I spoke with them a couple of years ago.
Rochester Brake and Clutch (New York-585-232-3717) used to do Velvet Touch but I am uncertain if they still do. Carbotech offers a carbon fiber that reportedly stops faster, dissipates heat faster, has less fade and wear than Velvet Touch. I believe they are www.ctbrakes.com.

Re: velvet touch C1 pads...supplier??
Jerry, I just emailed an HSR friend and asked if he knows of a source. If he comes up with one I will let you know.
'Just thought, you might try asking at a motorcycle dealership as a number of racing bikes use Velvet Touch brake pads

Re: velvet touch C1 pads...supplier??
Jerry, a couple more guesses. The last time I spoke with Doug Hooper years ago he was running Velvet Touch linings on the '56. He may have a lead, Andy Porterfield, or Guldstrand may know of a source.

Re: velvet touch C1 pads...supplier??
Velvet touch is still in business and part of Hawk brakes. they no longer make brake components but do make clutches. i haven't found anyone that has an old inventory of velvet touch shoes. i need the 2 1/2 inch front and 2 inch rear for vintage racing. So what are we supposed to do if we can't purchase racing shoes? what would be a reasonable substitute??- Top
