I am considering the "manufacture" of the leaf spring liners myself. I know I can buy the liners plus rebuild kit for $140. There is an excellent article on building the liners on the 1958-1960 Restorer DVD.
Why is part of the repro liners light colored (ends of longer liners) and the shorter liners are all dark?
If I understand the original process, the only pieces that should be dark are the 1/2" strips stapled to the top of the liners that are wrapped in muslin; then soaked in paraffin.
Anyone know what color the original muslin was? I will probably go with whatever color I can purchase at the local fabric shop.
