side louvers/grills

hi,
i'm working on the side louvers/grills and have noticed that the upper 'l' shaped ~10" long reinforcement and the lower normally riveted retainer are missing.
bubba used a blob of bondo at each extremity for the louver/grill attaching screws and had fabricated a sort of lower retainer.
could someone post a picture of the oem retainer attached to the lower fender opening?
i would like to see the retainer's exact position in relation to the fender and fender opening.

If you look behind the panel, there is a raised area. The strip, is the same size and bonds to the raised area. It is more L shaped, but not a 90 degree.

i found the raised area at the top of the fender opening, so i suppose bonding the 'l' shaped piece will not be too much of a problem.
what about the lower metal retainer? there is a cut out.

hi,
how is the lower retainer riveted to the opeing lip?

are the lower retainer tabs riveted resting on the opening lip?


or are the tabs unterneath?

ps what's the easiest way to remove excess hardened bondo?
