    Firewall cleaning

I'd like to carefully clean the dust and road grime from the firewall on my 66 roadster. The firewall was painted with blackout paint so I do not want to stain the black paint. I'll remove the ignition shielding but don't plan to remove anything else. There is a buildup of dust and mild road grime. I was thinking of mixing up a solution of Dawn dish washing soap, squirting it down, followed by a low velocity pressure wash. I intend to be careful around the firewall seals, wires and electrical connectors.

    Any comments?

    Thanks,
    Dave K.

Forget the pressure wash - the simple flow from a garden hose should be sufficient to rinse the detergent (and dirt) from the firewall.
