Took a look at the past posts at bottom where members noted the '64 label being used late into MY65, further the JG mentions that these '64 labels are common in MY65. Members, Kendall - Apr 65, Terry - May 65, Visco had two 65's both with '64 labels but no build date listed.

Thank you for the response back Dave! Armed with the information you provided, my reading glasses, a magnifying glass, and a bright light with the garage door opened, I did verify that the belts were marked as you stated: of; and, J-4a.

Alan, There could be. I found this in the archives: The poster said it came from a Feb 1966 car, which is about MY for the '66 production.

Think what Jim has shown in his two labels of an April 65 car is that the 64 label (on the popular black belt) was still being used late into MY65. Now would suspect sometime in MY65, towards end, a new label "Chevrolet '65" came into the mix. So far these ('65) have been seen in a Nov & Dec car and then the changed occurred sometime later. And as you suspect 2 different labels were in use. (Is there yet another??)

One minor point is that the MY is not a calendar year and Irving was dating their belts relative to the calendar year. Well these are just assumptions on my part - hope we find out more.

About 30 years ago I bought a "rough" set of 66 corvette seat belts (3rd week of 1966) for a real cheap price in a junkyard in Leominster, MA, basically for research purposes. During my "rookie years" I did not write done VIN's and date codes of other parts. Enclosed is a photo of one of the tags.

Thanks for the post and photo, Dave. Your belt probably has the last date used with this Irving design label. I hope to have an article out later this summer on this subject.
