    Re: Heating problem

    Jorn,

    Well, I use 160 degree as I live in hotter'en heck Texas 105F = 42C

Depends on the part of the year you're driving your car in Denmark. You might check with my friend Rob Musquetier in the Netherlands to see what degree thermostat he uses. Y'al might need a 180.

      Hi Gary
I'm only driven when it's hot but is it right understood that the Robert Shaw Thermostat has a bigger flow when it's open?

I think that it rains a lot in Nederland by Rob, therefore they walk with Tree-shoes, they simply walk on the water

        Jorn,

Yes, the Robert Shaw is a high flow thermostat and does not restrict coolant flow when open.

I've used Robertshaw #330-180 thermostats for many years; have had no issues with the USA or Mexico-made units, but I've heard negative reports recently on the China-made units (re-packaged by Mr. Gasket).

Finally I found out whats happen about the coolant. I took a ride without Thermostat and it become not hotter than 180 so I check my new thermostat in a boiling can and it opens correctly so it must be the flow through the thermostat thats not good enough!
My Radiator become hot in an area of 4/5 and not only 1/5(with Thermostat) so now is my question: where do I find a Thermostat which have a better "flush".
My Thermostat is bought by Ecklers and is a 160, with #A9035.
I hope someone has had the same problem and have found a "better" Thermostat!Sorry my bad english but I try at least

            Regards Jorn
Are you saying that without the thermostat, the radiator is mostly the same temperature? Is your thermostat in the right way? If you put the thermostat in the wrong way, you will overheat and get uneven temperatures in the cooling system. The thermostat should be marked on which way it goes in.
