    C1 screw/bolt

My 62 has a screw or bolt with kind of a "butterfly" opening on it, on the strap for the coolant tank.

Just noticed the same bolt is on the hood support.

I suppose you could use a screwdriver, but does someone make a special tool for these?

    Thanks in advance.

That is called a "clutch head" bolt and there is a special tool. You can find teh tools on Ebay and other places in sets.

here is an example on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1955-...#ht_500wt_1182

Yes you can use a screwdriver, however, it depends upon how tight they are.

    hope that helps,
    Tony

I think you have the wrong fastener in the strap. Clutch-head screws are used on the hood brace where it attaches to the fender. The bolt to the hold-down strap on the expansion tank has a 7/16" head. You can buy a set of clutch-head screwdrivers at most tool places.
