60 Hood Rod Color

I've searched the net to no avail to find the color of the hood rod. I'm thinking it should be 60 degree gloss black. Any assist is greatly appreciated.

Joe,

For lack of better terminology, it's the rod on the driver side that slides up and down and locks when the hood is open all the way; keeps the hood up.

I beleive the hood support was cad plated , at least mine is .

Per the judging manual, cad plating is correct.

My original and the NOS one I bought around 1971 from GM parts are both cad plated.

Concur, 1960 hood support rod is cadmium plated.

Don't need to search the net--it's in the JG manual available from NCRS store.
