Pattern for installing new hood numbers on a 72

Does anyone know if there is a pattern available for installing the numbers on a new big block hood? I've been wasting a lot of time trying to create my own pattern and not happy with anything I've done so far. Thanks.

Do you have the 72 AIM there is a page I think in the LS5 section that show the 454 emblem layout.

I'm just thinking of how tough it will be to get the small holes in there for the alignment pins. Ouch.

Thanks guys. I do have the AIM. I'll check it again.

The alignment pins will probably disappear.

          Paul,

You are right on the money. LS5-B3 in the 71 AIM.

          Thanks.

Yeah, but we look for them on the backside when we judge.

Yeah, but this car is a 100K Stock Eliminator car. Tech could care less about an alignment pin hole.

                LOL!

Yeah, I guess it won't show up on the judging field.

                  Bruce,
A friend of mine made a very nice brass template with holes drilled from the dimensions in the Assembly Manual, and the contour closely matches that of the 1970-72 hood.

Let me know off-line if you would like me to ask him if he still has it, and/or is willing to "loan" it to you for your hood.
