    1967 hood stencil

I'm getting ready for paint, my car bis goodwood green with white on the hood. I measured the stock lines on my hood but the tip of the white was on the old front end that was destroyed.

I need to get a stencil for the whole thing so I can get the correct shape of the very tip.

I looked at some pictures but don't have the guts to wag it.

My guess is that the white was over the green. Is that true?

Who sells the stencil ? LIcorvette says NA.

    Dom,

throw the stencil away or if you got it don't use it.
I use pictures from original cars and measurements from original cars as well as the AIM and free hand lay out the stripe. Problem being each car is different and to get the stripe to lay right as you look down it and also hit the nose cone right with the pin stripes just under the nose cone emblem. It's lots a work to get it right. I can spend the better part of a day laying the stripe out before paint. I'm sure you'll hear different opinions but thats mine. I lost count of how many hood stripes I painted on 67's

I agree with Rich through away the stencil..
Here's 3 pictures of supposed Survivor stripes. All I use is pictures and the original measurements. I have never lost a point for a hood stripe other than to much paint. The originals were paper thin

          Rich& Bill,

          Rich,
Thanks I have every thing but the tip and I think I saw a pic that you may have posted that was one that I wanted to copy.
I have good measurments of all but the tip. I think you said they all differ a little?

          Bill,
Thanks, for the info, I didn't think the white went on first even though it would be the easy way, makes sence.

I am hoping and will look at the tips that are on the front end and get the ba??s to do it. I may not get the stencil but if I do Paragon seems to have a better price than LIcorvette did when they had them.

          Rich,
I am going to the shop in a few and tomorrow I will look up pictures and do what you say.

I'm shooting BC/CC because of my days doing acrylic laquer and watching it go to he?? over the years.

When I started this resto I planned on acrylic enamel with a 2 part clear which I was real comfortable with for years but times have changed and Acrylic enamel is out lawed here.

          Thanks

              Re: 1967 hood stencil

LI web site says no more stencils after Nov 2010 - sold out-not making more-use the manual and tape it out. Too bad they didn't give that advice 10 years ago.
Thank God nobody else will waste 50 bucks on their useless piece of cardboard
