bose amp/speaker combo r/r?

any tips on how to remove and replace a Bose amp/speaker set up on a c4(1988) driver's side door? I am told that after I remove ALL the door panel screws ..(about 20) the amp/speaker "box" is not only screwed but also glued or somehow calked into the door opening....any help would be appreciated!

Jeff if your 88 is similiar to my 85 the speaker/amp hard plastic container is attached to the door frame with a calk like substance. This seals the the container to the door to prevent water from entering.
The container can be removed with some human pressure and in my case did separate with no significant difficulty.
The more difficult task is removing the amp/speaker container from the door. It will come out, the metal plate attached with screws to the door has to be moved to get it out.
I last time I did this back in 1993 to my 85 and need to do it again. I am not in a rush to do it since the other three speakers work. I know what is involved, just don't remember enough to tell you how.
I am going to contact Bose and see if they still rebuild/replace the amp/speaker for Bose equipped Corvettes when it is sent to them.
