Could some tell me where the PCV valve is located on a 1964 Corvette 327 engine? Were PCV valves used only on "early" 1964 Corvettes similar to the 1963?
The 1963 PCV valve attaches to the back side of the carburetor via a brass elbow, GM # 444040, as shown in the 1963 AIM (UPC 6, sheet C3).
The 1964 Corvette assembly manual (Sect. 6, sheet C3.00) does not show a PCV valve at all. The drawing shows a connector (GM # 3853720) at the back side of the carburetor connecting to the oil filler tube with hose # 3846107.
My 1964 and 1965 Chevrolet Parts Catalogs (Oct. 1963 and Oct. 1964) lists PCV valve # 5649689 (CV-590) for 1963 and 1964 Corvettes.
