    2006 Engine Noise ???

I hear a (Ticking) noise from the engine compartment on my 2006 Coupe. It is when the engine is a cold start and only is heard under acceleration. When I back off it is quiet. It lasts for about 2-3 miles.
I took it into the dealer to find out what it is and they tried to find it two mornings. All I was told is that is not a serious problem.

I think it is a pulley. Any other thoughts?

Gary, alot of times the engine wrist pins make noise when the engine is cold for the first few minutes, The early C5 cars were common,But the C6 corvettes the wrist pin design was changed to floating design. and did a much better job of quieting them down. maybe send Tom Hendricks a PM he maybe able to come up with a possible TSB from the Chevrolet dealership he works for.

sounds like a exhaust leak that goes away when the system heats up. also GM had some hyd liter noise with LS series engines

So far I like Clem's answer.

        I have received:---
=Piston slap would be my guess if it goes away when the engine warms up.
=I had a lifter do this once

Don't see anything as far as a bulletin.

GM had piston slap problems with the LS series engines but they cured that with coated pistons. you should be able to check for exhaust leaks by having some one plug up the tail pipes with rags while you listen under the hood for a hissing noise with the engine at a idle.

Check for crank balancer wobble- a known problem.

There was a bulletin for that, but on 05's.
