Ron,
Sounds like an ideal candidate. Any idea who the owner is? Or how to contact him/her?

Re: 1966 Frame Stencil Research; Help from '66 owners
Gary,
Here's a frame picture from my Sept 65 car. VIN 1478. It may be too early for your use, but maybe it will help.

Bob; Kevin; THANKS!!
Bob, Kevin,
Even if the build dates for your cars are not specifically within the time gaps I'm looking for, your photos are indeed valuable in an important way. One thing I'm faced with is not knowing for certain if a given stencil is original or whether it was restored (perhaps incorrectly) 20 years ago on a car that has been driven regularly since then and now appears to be old and perhaps original. By having photos of stencils from multiple cars with build dates that vary by a few weeks, I can gain confidence that a given stencil is indeed original. So, I will definitely put your photos into chronological order by build date and use them for confirmation of originality of others that I have collected already.
So to all '66 owners who haven't already contributed, please send me your frame stencil photos so long as you are pretty confident that your stencil is original, regardless of the build date within the '66 model year.
Thanks,

'66 Frame Stencil Research; Help from '66 owners
Kevin,
Your stencil is particularly valuable from a research perspective since it shows that there was overlap of the stencil lines in some cases.
I also have seen examples of where the stencil was applied twice, with some shift in placement between the two applications.
I find these stenciling "imperfections" to be very interesting.

Ron, Was that the 425 from Illinois? It drew the big crowds when I got it on the lift. If so I know the owner. LMK.Terry- Top

Mike,
I don't know where it came from before Palatine -- I probably heard at one time but way too many sleeps have come in between.Terry- Top

1966 Frame Stencil Research; Help from '66 owners
Terry,
Since you know the owner, could you contact the owner and ask if the '66 with the 18K miles is his/her car? If it's the right car, I'd appreciate it if you could pass along my e-mail address: garybeaupre@comcast.net
Thanks

Re: 1966 Frame Stencil Research; Help from '66 owners
I am not sure it is the same car. The car I "drove" onto the lift had 11,750 miles showing -- unless I miss-read the odometer. On the other hand there couldn't have been too many blue 1966s BB there, oh and with side mounted exhaust, could there? I can't say I paid as much attention to the tires as Mike has though.Terry,

Re: 1966 Frame Stencil Research; Help from '66 owners
Ron & Gary,
Have some patience with the blue car. I have planted some seeds. Let's see what they grow into.
There was also a red 1966 parked next to the blue one. The red car got Bowtie also, I am told, and was once owned by Mr Real Deal his self. Maybe he could help, since I don't know the present owner of the red car.Terry- Top
