How long are the 2 pivot bolts that mount the generator to the "U bracket"?

The AIM specified it as part #374691 and it is the same for both generators. The reproduction ones (see pic, approx 1.65") appear to be too long from other "claimed original" cars I have looked at.

The 3746961 bolts (not 374691) are described in my 1963 Chevrolet Parts Catalog (Oct. 1962) in Gr. 2.277 as follows: "BOLT, bracket to gen. (hex. hd. 5/16-24 X 1 5/16) and were used on many Chevrolet models in the 1950's and early 1960's. The 1 5/16" length is the effective length, not the total length.

I have a 55 Chevrolet bracket (#3712558) with the original bolts (GM # 3718205, 5/16-24 X 1 1/4" as per my 1957 Chev. parts catalog), washers, and nuts. The head on these bolts has the letter "E" with 6 radial ling segments (GM-300 or grade 8), thread length is about 9/16".

Yes you had the correct number, I omitted digit when I typed this.

The repros are definitely longer.
