    Muffler Guidance

The '65 Coupe that I just purchased has mufflers that are badly in need of replacement. I want the car to stay as properly stock as possible, so what is your recommendation as to the best place to purchase correct mufflers? My '97 Vette has stainless steel units from Corsa but I think I see that you don't want to have SS muffler/tailpipes on these older cars that might be ultimately judged? Tks for any guidance.

I should have done a search before posing the question about exhaust systems. This subject has been throughly covered more than once here. I likely will buy the best, most correct stainless steel system I can, hope for a portly judge, take the deduction and motor on down the road.

      Mike,
I have two different systems for my 67, both under car type.

The first is an alumanized welded system similar in factory appearance. This is from C Central, fit and finish is very good with no dents. It is also very quiet. I have had this system for about 15 years and have no rust

The other system is a chambered pipe system from Allen's. The fit and finish is also very good. This is definitely not quiet. I have had this sytem for about 4-5 years and it too has not rusted.

Way to go, Mike. I started to post some threads from the archives yesterday but there were just so many of them. I'm glad you found the answer. The archives are our friend.
