Re: Heat Riser and cross over heat slots?
Tim;
The electric choke I use has a coil (thermal)spring that captures the tang on the pull off piston mechaism, i.e. it pulls the choke closed and pushes it open. It has a thremal sensing unit mounted on top of the manifold back of the carburetor (boss on Aluminum manifold) that controls the coil heat (voltage to it). The pull off mechanism is still in place and may assist to dampen the transition, but it has no sourse of air to draw on as the choke housing is sealed. I wanted to get a different housing with the tube connection directly on it instead of the choke cover to try it that way, but have not come across one as yet.
I do have my transition slots "dialed in" at idle, on the 3721SB on the car.
The 3461S came to me with the idle screws set at 2-1/4 turns open so I can only imagine what was going on there. That could have been due tho the mismatched primary venturi boosters - 1 with .035" idle tube, and the other with a .037". We'll see when I get it operating. Garage is VERY HOT now and I'm running low on Gatorade!
