Holley 2300 idle mixture screw frozen

I'm in the process of giving my L71 it's first tune up in 40 years. I went to turn the idle mixture screw and it's frozen. I've been applying PB blaster the past few days and have some Kroil on order.

Are there any other approaches I should consider?

    Thanks, Chris

    Chris,

Kroil is the best; been using for 30 years. Apply small drops every hour til you hit the rack; let Kroil soak for 24 hours. Try backing off the screw (counter clockwise) first ever so slightly. If it turns, apply a drop of kroil and let it sit for an hour. Come back and turn the screw clockwise ever so slightly. Again apply Kroil and come back in an hour, and so on. Takes time but well worth the effort than damaging the screw and or threads.

interesting as i have been doing holleys for many years, too many and never saw a idle mixture screw frozen because they are sealed with a cork gasket. you will need to dig the cork gasket out from around the mixture screw to get the kroil into the threads
