Question about tank stickers

Hey folks, can someone tell me if there should be a tank sticker on the 1982 models. I am getting ready to start working on a silver green 82 and was curious if there should be a dealer order copy glued to the tank. Thanks, Marc

hey marc...to answer your question...YES. they started in 67 and i believe they are still going. you can get a copy of one from the corvette museum if you have an 81 or newer model.

Thanks Kevin, I figured there may be one on the tank. Sadly, my car falls in the serial numbers that the museum has lost, so I am hoping the original is still there. Marc

Even if the tank sticker is gone you can get a copy of the dealer invoice/shipping document from GM Archives (1977 forward) that lists the dealer, date, RPO codes, etc. I think they are now $50.

They were destroyed when the St Louis plant moved to Bowling Green. Owners have found build sheets in other places. The link to the article was published in the Restorer about 2006 and describes other places where owners have found buildsheets.
