    78 turn signal lever

I am in need of an 78 early design (bent lever) turn signal lever. My car does have tilt/telescopic, but does not have cruise. Does anyone know a GM part number and/or where I might purchase one? Thanks in advance for your help.

This question has come up before and I was just as stumped then as I am now.

There is only one turn signal lever that I can come up with for 1978 Corvettes with tilt tele and without cruise control. That lever was GM #475877. However, this is a STRAIGHT lever with no bends. The only lever with a bend that I can find for 1978-E79 is for applications with cruise control.

If a lever with a bend was originally used for some/all 1978 Corvettes without cruise control and with tilt/tele, then, from what I can find, that lever was never available in SERVICE from GM.

My 78 Tilt (no Cruise Control) with the first design pivot has a straight arm
Car was built 2/14/78 according to markings under rear deck.

        Re: 78 turn signal lever

I recently went through much similar confusion helping a friend with his early '79 Tilt-Tele column. The signal lever pivot assembly was worn, and the angled directional lever would flop around. We replaced the lever pivot, with what we thought was the correct one, but the lever was now too close to the steering wheel. We put the wrong pivot in. After more confusion we found the correct pivot at Volunteer Vette. http://www.volvette.com/

        78-79E Pivot ......Here
        79L-82 Pivot..... Here

Check with Volunteer Vette as they may be able to help you find the lever you need, but my catalog says ST43E is the lever for 78-82 w/o cruise, but it's not on their website.
