What is the correct finish on the front caliper brackets on a 67?

Cad or Zinc plated.

David originals show at Novi were plain heavy zinc plate as compared to the modern zinc di chromate that imparts a blueish and very glossy finish.

When I disassembled my original April 67 front caliper brackets, I found what appeared to be traces of a "gold" cad under the bolts. So, were they "gold" to begin with?

I did replate them "silver" to avoid an argument at judging.

Note the cad "runs" on the backing plates left from original plating.

Steve, no gold cad, that is yellow chromate which could be applied over either but was predominate as a corrosion enhancer for zinc plate.


A part print would solve this question
