Is there any way to tell if the subject trim is original early production or service replacement parts versus more recent licensed reproduction? I know there is no way to know if it is original to my car
The pictures are of one of the eyebrow pieces which shows a correct GM part number (PT 3740210 RH) which is on one side of the piece and another number (12024) on the other side of the trim. There is also a logo which look like a stylized E and C inside a circle.
I am assuming that more recent and current licensed reproductions that are made with original molds will have the original GM numbers in the castings, But are the folks making the reproduction also adding something to identify their company? I have seen some reproduction parts from Corvette Central that have a correct original GM casting number but also a CC logo in the casting.
Thanks,
Don
