My rear window and gasket barely make contact along the top and lower edge. The gasket for its age is soft and spongy, without dry rot. I was going to order a new one from Willcox but decided to chime in first. Is the rear window adjustable in any way on how it sits? Or is it possible that the gasket because of age has lost thickness therefor not making proper contact. Thank you any help.

Re: 82 rear window question
Good morning Arland,
I have the collector edition. Also I failed to mention that the driver side latch, when the window is opened or closed, the pecker head on the glass does not fall center to the locking device. Tried making adj. but no success. Thanks.- Top

Re: 82 rear window question
Isaac,
You can shim the hinges between the hinge and the body to effectively 'lower' the glass down to the window gasket and also make adjustments at the hinges to center the catch on the latch. After the glass is properly located, the latch and catch can be properly adjusted for proper operation. As I recall, there are a couple of fairly good illustrations in the factory shop manual.- Top

Re: 82 rear window question
Thank You Much, The shimming is an option I will do. But regarding the latch I loosened the support screws on the base and moved it back as much as the bracket would allow, but still have the misalignment. With the manual I will check everything to see that all is in its proper place and hopefully find the problem. Thank you again for your time and input. Isaac.- Top
