Correct Power Steering Belt - 1976 L48 with AC

According to Quanta Restoration the belt currently on my car (9433622) is the correct number.

Also, who makes the most correct appearing belts for this car? Is quanta a good source for these?
    Thanks!

    Bryan,

My 1979 & 1981 Corvette Parts Catalogs list GM # 9433725 as the part number for the P/S pump fan belt (7/16" - 36") for 1975-1982 Corvettes.

The 9433725 fan belt also appears in my 1976 Chevrolet Parts Catalog (Sept. 1975, all models except the Corvette) as it was also used on the 1976 Vega & Monza models and the list price was $4.80.

My 1976 Chevrolet Price Schedule (May 1976) does NOT list GM # 9433622 but GM # 9433725 is listed for $4.95 as it was apparently used on various Chevrolet, Buick, and Oldsmobile models (codes are 5,1,2).

    GM # 9433725 is also listed in my 1973-1975 Chevrolet Parts Catalog (April 1975) for 1973-1975 Chevrolets (350,400), 1973-1975 Chevelles (8 cyl.)(exc. 454), and 1973-1975 Camaros (8cyl.)(exc. SHP), 1973-1975 Camaros SHP/AC.

I am not sure what P/S belt was installed on the 1976 Corvette assembly line (refer to your assembly manual) but you could only buy a 9433725 belt "over the counter" in May 1976.

    My 1974 Chevrolet Price Schedule lists GM # 9433622 for $3.15 and GM # 9433725 for $3.15.

The 9433622 belt is listed as 3/8"-36" in my 1973 Chevrolet Parts Catalog (July 1973).

According to GM parts History GM # 9433622 was discontinued in Feb. 1975 and replaced with GM # 9433725. Who knows how many 9433622 belts were still in stock on the assembly line in 1975. Chevrolet used up parts on the assembly line until they were gone.

The assembly manuals for 75, 76 & 77 all show only one belt #9433622. I would suspect that the 75-77 Judging guide may possibly be in error.

ONE CAUTION...I purchased a 9433622 from Quanta (Correct for my 1975). I found it to be just a tad wider than original and therefore it did not sit as deep in the groove. because of this the 36 inch belt was not quite long enough to properly set the P.S. Pump. The cap could not be removed. I discussed this with quantas and was able to get a 9433622 but slightly longer belt tolerance wise and it worked perfectly. Quanta was very helpfull. I would suspect the same scenario for 76 fit, AL Rutz
