This post still bothers me about the center retainer. I was viewing the 92 Corvette build at Bowling Green and happened to notice this at 8:43 minutes into the video. Interesting ?

George if you look carefully none of the three air deflectors are in place at the 8:43 mark. You can see the center retainer riveted to the center radiator baffle, but as I said earlier I believe the center deflector should be installed above the baffle and center retainer.

Bolted down with 10MM machine screws.(head up) The ones Tom has shown in picture are the 10MM self tapping that are used for the left & right air deflectors. There are NO nylon nuts for those. My 95 came in with no spoiler.I called Bowling Green and I spoke with Sonny Kilgo on the Corvette HotLine back then. He sent me a complete Deflector package for my 95.
I am One Corvette Nut that I looked at other Corvettes and installed the spoiler myself. Told the dealer NOT to Prep or touch my Corvette when it came, or I would not take it. I have done that with all my new Corvettes. So here are some pics, hope this helps. PS I was so crazy that I thought I was going to keep my 95 forever so I ordered three extra complete Left & Rght and Center Spoiler Sections. Had to keep sending them back to get the most perfect ones from GM parts. (No mold damage) My GM parts guy knew I was crazy but we got the best ones anyway. Save the Wave.>George

Hi Guys,Just to put my 2 cents in,I just changed my front air damn on my 96 collector edition(build date was 4/30/96) this past weekend, and my center section does't have the metal retainer like the outer ones have. Also,in the center section the,the bolts are facing up with metal nuts/captured washers.I painted them cause they were a little rusted. While I'm here George,do you still have a complete set that you would like to sell??I put on an aftermarket set and of course without thinking about it there's no part#s on them!!DUH!!Nick B

Nick, you say you don't have a center retainer "like the outer ones." The outer ones are different, but don't you have a thin center aluminum brace riveted to your lower radiator baffle?
